The Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc. (COASL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting seniors in St. Lucie County, Florida. Founded in 1973 by a group of 25 volunteers, COASL began by providing daily hot meals to seniors, laying the foundation for what would become the Meals on Wheels program. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to meet the evolving needs of the senior community. Today, COASL serves over 25,000 seniors annually, offering a comprehensive range of services designed to promote independence and quality of life for older adults.COASL relies on community support for over one-third of its operating budget and employs over 100 full and part-time staff, along with more than 200 volunteers. The organization plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of seniors in the region, helping them maintain independence and remain active members of the community.
