Summary of SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care: The SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care is a nonprofit inpatient hospice facility located in Pittsboro, North Carolina. It is named in honor of Dr. Jim Bryan, a long-time physician and palliative care advocate, and his wife Betsy. The facility is operated by UNC Health Care and funded in part by the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation. Established in 2017, the hospice provides compassionate, 24-hour care for terminally ill patients who can no longer be cared for at home. The facility includes 10 private patient rooms, each with a private patio, as well as family rooms, a kitchen, a children’s playroom, and serene garden spaces. The hospice offers general inpatient care, respite care, and residential hospice care, with a focus on dignity, comfort, and emotional support for both patients and families. During building upgrades in 2024–2025, operations have been temporarily relocated to UNC Hillsborough Campus. The hospice is part of the UNC Hospice network and is featured under the UNC Health Care umbrella on social media and official communications. It does not have standalone social media but shares visibility with UNC Health and the SECU Foundation.
