Abe's Garden® Community is a non-profit organization located in Nashville, TN, created to establish a national model of residential and day care programs for those with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. It was founded by Michael D. Shmerling in memory of his father, Abram C. "Abe" Shmerling, M.D., who lived with Alzheimer's. Beyond providing exceptional care, Abe's Garden is also dedicated to being a site for research and training, sharing best practices in dementia care and brain health broadly and freely. It has received numerous recognitions for its groundbreaking dementia design and outstanding staff.
